Formation
At some point, millions of years ago, source rocks inside the earth’s crust were subjected to intense pressures and high temperatures, causing the atoms to recombine into new metamorphic (changed) rocks which included sapphires (corundum). Padparadscha is a delicate light to medium toned pink-orange to orange-pink hue CORUNDUM, found as deposits some parts of world. Padparadscha sapphires are rare; the rarest of all is the totally natural variety, with no sign of artificial treatment.

Treatment
Beryllium treatment was discovered by accident during a normal heat treatment back in the 1980’s in Thailand. Small fragments of chrysoberyl mixed with the corundum have been the cause of the color enhancement during the heat treatment. The color is 100% stable.
